Newcastle United winger Sylvain Marveaux will be sent to the USA for surgery on his troublesome groin and hip.
The Frenchman has had the issue for a little while and will now have a specialist operation in Colorado in the next week or so.
"Newcastle United can confirm that midfielder Sylvain Marveaux will travel to America early next week for an operation on his right hip and groin," read a club statement.
"The 25-year old was forced off during the Magpies' victory over Everton earlier this month and was subsequently assessed by the club's medical staff.
"Marveaux will now travel to the renowned Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado, where he will be operated on by Dr Marc Philippon, one of the world's leading orthopaedic hip surgeons.
"The club will provide further updates after the operation."
