Young Newcastle United goalkeeper Tim Krul has been handed an extra month on his loan contract with Carlisle United.

The 20-year old has been impressive during his five games with the Cumbrians and manager Greg Abbott was only happy to keep him around.

"We've seen what Tim can do already, and I think he's been excellent," Abbott told the club's official website.

"Hopefully he will continue to build on the performances he has given us."
