Newcastle United midfielder Geremi is on the verge of signing a deal with Turkish club Besiktas.

The Cameroon international has struggled to get a first team game with the Magpies and it is believed both clubs have agreed to a £1.5m fee.

"I'm nearing the end of my career and I don't want to be sitting on the bench," Geremi said.

"There is a bid for me and I am deciding what to do but I really want to play."
