Mathieu Debuchy knew his stranglehold on the right-back position in the France team wouldn't last.
The Newcastle United has been a regular in Didier Deschamps' side in recent times but is set for a fight with Arsenal's Bacary Sagna who is back from injury ahead of World Cup qualifiers with Georgia and Belarus on Friday and Tuesday respectively.
"I knew he would come back," Debuchy told a press conference.
"He plays for a great club at Arsenal and is very tough mentally but I just have to think of myself.
"The France team belongs to everyone [but] my aim is to give the coach [selection] trouble."
