Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll is set for his first senior England call-up after being left out of the U21 squad.
The 21-year old is now expected to be brought into Fabio Capello's group for the Euro2012 qualifier against Montenegro next week after Stuart Pearce did not bring him into the U21 team for the do-or-die European Championship qualifier against Romania.
Capello currently has a striker shortage following injuries to Bobby Zamora, Jermain Defoe and Wayne Rooney so will bring four-goal Carroll in for his first shot at a senior international.
