Newcastle United striker Andy Carroll will fly to Sweden today to seek assistance for his ongoing thigh injury.
The 22-year old has been out of action for the Magpies' last five matches after tearing a muscle in his left thigh and will now go to see a world renowned tendon expert according to his manager Alan Pardew.
"We hoped he could start running and the disappointing news is that he hasn't," Pardew said.
"His injury is in the muscle just above where it joins the knee, in an area that doesn't heal quickly. So, we're sending him to the world's best tendon repair expert."
Newcastle will be hoping a cure can be found for Carroll sooner rather than later as he is a vital member of the squad, as evidenced by his 11 goals in 18 Premier League starts this season.
