Newcastle United defender Sol Campbell was delighted after helping his side to a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in his first league start for the club.
The veteran centre-half stepped in with Steven Taylor to take over in the absence of Mike Williamson and Fabricio Coloccini and did a solid job in holding the Blues at bay before and after Salomon Kalou's 45th minute equalizer.
Campbell said it was a good feeling to be able to mix it with the league's best and was simply happy to be back in the fray at the top level.
"We had to work hard and use the ball well. They're a great side, they came back to 1-1, but you can't beat it," he said.
"It's always nice to come back at home, whenever it comes you've got to take it and get on with it.
"I've been training hard, working hard, and it's great to be out there."
