Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton is not a transfer target for Bolton says manager Owen Coyle.
The controversial 28-year old has emerged as a target for a bunch of Premier League clubs since he was told he can leave St James' Park for free but Coyle says the Trotters don't need him.
"Joey Barton is a fantastic player but where I think Joey Barton's best position is, in the centre of midfield, that's not an area we are looking to strengthen," Coyle told Sky Sports News.
"What I do know is, whoever does manage to sign him is getting a hugely talented player and a player, I imagine, with a point to prove.
"He will certainly be good business for someone."
