Controversial Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton has arrived in London ahead of proposed talks and a medical with QPR.
The 28-year old was placed on the transfer list by the Magpies following comments made against the club's board and ever since, he has been linked with a move away from St James' Park.
Links with QPR have emerged in the past few days and it has been confirmed that he today traveled to London to have further discussions with the Loftus Road outfit who are desperate to strengthen their squad following the takeover by Air Asia co-owner Tony Fernandes.
Further to Barton arriving in England's capital, the midfielder suggested on his Twitter page that he was set to join the R's.
"Going for a medical now, still no contract offer from NUFC.......think that just about makes my mind up," he wrote.
And later added: "Don't want to leave Newcastle........I've made that clear but my hands are tied."
