Newcastle United managing director Derek Llambias says the South Korean transfer market isn't ready to produce Premier League players.
Llambias revealed that United did watch one player in South Korea - understood to be Ji Dong-Won - but decided that he did not have enough to make an immediate impact in England.
"As for the global markets, well we did look at South Korea and a player from the Chunnam Dragons," Llambias told The Journal.
"We sent our guys over. Graham (Carr) had a look at him and he wasn't good enough, yet he was one of their star players."
