Nile Ranger has signed a new three-and-a-half year contract with Newcastle United.

Ranger - who has scored 22 times for the reserve and youth team - couldn't conceal his delight at signing a new deal with the Magpies and told the Evening Chronicle: "You never expect to come for nine months, and get offered a new contract. I'm buzzing.

"It's a different environment for me, but I've settled in well, and I feel great about things."
