Newcastle United are reviving their bid for FC Twente defender Douglas.
The Evening Chronicle says sources at the Dutch club say they are still open to negotiations on the 24-year-old with the Magpies - despite the collapse of United's bid for Luuk De Jong.
Failure to agree a fee for the Swiss-born player has not soured relations between United and Steve McClaren's side.
The signing of Douglas is complicated as he must reside in Holland until the end of next month in order to push on with his international career.
