Newcastle remain in Lyon contact for Lacazette

Newcastle United haven't dropped their pursuit of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The Evening Chronicle says sources in France say that United are still interested in Lacazette - despite Lyon's resistance to offload the French international and amid talk of a new contract.

It is also believed that Newcastle will be offered another opportunity to sign Loic Remy from Queens Park Rangers.

Alan Pardew had claimed that United's patience had snapped with last season's top scorer but he may come into consideration again if Newcastle don't land Lacazette or a suitable replacement candidate.
