Newcastle United remain in the hunt for a new striker.
The Evening Chronicle says they remain determined to sign a striker before the end of the transfer window - and have not given up on either Loic Remy or Alexandre Lacazette.
United have recruited seven players for next season's first team squad and are now only hunting a striker capable of shouldering the scoring burden.
Although defensive reinforcements have been called for by some, any further additions above and beyond a striker would depend on outgoings - which look unlikely at the moment.
