Newcastle to release Campbell
Newcastle United are set to release veteran defender Sol Campbell.
The People says Toon will not offer Campbell a new deal at the end of the season – which could spell the end of the defender’s illustrious career.
Campbell, 36, arrived last July when his former Spurs colleague Chris Hughton gave him a 12-month contract.
But the old England star has only made seven appearances and there is a strong suspicion he will call it a day after a dire spell on Tyneside.
