Newcastle United have received little interest for Michael Owen ahead of the January market.

The Daily Mail says Owen's failure to recover from his latest injury is likely to scupper Newcastle's plans to sell the striker in the January transfer window.

Newcastle have received little interest so far and with the club looking to recoup something in the region of £8million, it seems unlikely he will be leaving Tyneside until the summer at the earliest.

There have been no talks over extending a deal that runs out in 18 months and Newcastle fear losing him for nothing after so far shelling out about £30m on him.
