Newcastle United are ready to open new contract talks with Hatem Ben Arfa.
The Journal says they have made it their priority now the transfer window has shut. The club approached his representatives in July but the forward wanted to wait until he had returned to fitness.
His current contract runs until 2015 but after his superb start to the season Newcastle are ready to return to the negotiating table.
