Newcastle pull back from bidding for Man Utd rebel Morrison

Newcastle United are going cold on Manchester United rebel Ravel Morrison.

The Manchester Evening News says Morrison looks likely to remain at United until the summer at least after Newcastle cooled their interest in the young midfielder.

United rejected Newcastle's initial offer, believed to be around £500,000, earlier this month and the Toon have decided to shelve their pursuit of the highly-rated 18-year-old.

Morrison was thought to be keen on the idea of a move to the Sports Direct Arena largely due to the prospect of getting the first-team football he has been missing at Old Trafford.

But Newcastle's signing of striker Papiss Demba Cisse coupled with United's valuation of the player, about £4m, has seen the move shelved for now.
