Newcastle United are chasing Ajax left back Nicolai Boilesen.

The Daily Mail says Newcastle boss Alan Pardew went to watch Ajax play De Graafschap last month but prior to the game Boilesen, 20, was ruled out for the rest of the season after a relapse.

The young Dane, rated at £5 million by Ajax, had trials at both Toon and Manchester United as a teen before joining Ajax.
