Newcastle United are weighing up a shock bid for Aston Villa striker Darren Bent.
The former Sunderland star is available from Villa this month.
The Express & Star says Bent could attract a bid from Premier League rivals Newcastle, but the Magpies are mulling over whether the £24million forward would be too expensive.
