Newcastle United are keen to set up a loan deal for Chelsea striker Demba Ba.
The London Evening Standard says manager Jose Mourinho is thought to be open to the idea of allowing Ba to leave, especially with the club in advanced talks to sign Samuel Eto'o from Anzhi Makhachkala.
No official approach has yet been made but Ba is thought to be concerned over his lack of regular action in a season preceding the World Cup in Brazil. He has been dropped from Senegal's squad for next month's crucial qualifier against Uganda amid rumours of a rift with coach Alain Giresse and concerns over the striker's club form.
