Newcastle United's players would love to see Kevin Keegan reinstated.

The Sun says as Keegan entered his dramatic talks with Toon owner Mike Ashley yesterday, the players were texting each other excitedly and senior members of the Toon squad had been told there could be sensational news.

One Newcastle star said: "It was buzzing around all afternoon that there was a chance of Kevin coming back.

"We could never have imagined this happening. There was not even a hint of it during the week."
