Newcastle players shared constructive criticism after Everton loss - Carver

John Carver admits his Newcastle United players had a heart-to-heart after losing 3-0 to Everton on Sunday.

The Magpies sunk to a third loss in four outings to remain 11th on the table which has them positioned with not much to play for in their remaining nine fixtures.

Carver revealed that there were some words shared among the playing group in the Goodison Park dressing room and hopes that perhaps it rubs off for the final part of the campaign.

"A few of the guys had a few composed words after the match," he said.

"I told one or two players not to say anything because usually it is one or two players who come forward - I wanted it to come from other people.

"The fact people make a point I think is a healthy situation - it can't always come from me, I'm not a dictator.

"We can't go hiding or disappear anywhere. I can't walk around miserable as sin, I have to do something about it.

"The guys had a good two-way conversation and we will review it all on Tuesday."
