Newcastle United have moved quickly to deny claims that they have made a play for Ross McCormack.
Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino stated earlier this week that the Magpies had lodged an official bid for the Scottish striker but according to Sky Sports, nothing of that nature has occurred.
McCormack is being linked with a summer departure from Elland Road and although he could be on his way to a Premier League club, it will not be to St James' Park after Toon officials reportedly denied the speculation.
