Newcastle United are interested in Hull City captain Curtis Davies.
The Sunday Mirror says the centre-back is in demand, with Sunderland and Everton both ready to pay £8million to prise him out of the Yorkshire club.
But Toon chief Alan Pardew plans to tempt the Tigers with a player-plus-cash offer for the former Luton, West Brom and Aston Villa defender.
Pardew is willing to pay City £4m and throw in £4m-rated Steven Taylor as a ready-made replacement for Davies.
