Peter Lovenkrands says Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor deserves an England call.

Taylor has had a big say on their successful start to the season.

"As for our defence, Tayls (Steven Taylor) has always been like that. Even in training he's a pain in the you-know-what but he's fantastic," Lovenkrands told The Journal.

"I always play against him in training and he's not a nice guy to play against. He carries that onto the pitch and he's been fantastic for us this season.

"I really think (Fabio) Capello should look at him. He's a fantastic defender and I really hope he gets his chance."
