Newcastle Jets owner Con Constantine is hoping Football Federation Australia will sponsor the club after recent events.
Constantine believes it would be good compensation after the sport's governing body enticed former coach Gary van Egmond to a job at the Australian Institute of Sport.
A meeting on Monday between Constantine and FFA officials will tell if his proposal will be entertained by the federation, but Constantine urged the FFA to consider it.
"That way, they [FFA] don't get egg on their faces and it doesn't look like they lose credibility," Constantine said.
"Rather than me kicking them because I don't want to kick them this is working with them.
"It's a good gesture that is a win-win for both parties. I mean it's a good outcome."
