Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley has moved to clampdown on his tweeting players.
The Sun says Newcastle's players were yesterday issued with legal letters ordering them not to blast the club on social networking sites. Guidelines had already been put in place at the club.
But after Barton let rip at the board this week, Toon owner Ashley acted quickly to stop his stars stepping out of line.
Barton and fellow Twit Jose Enrique were both fined two weeks' wages for outbursts.
And anyone who follows suit can expect similar punishments.
