Mike Ashley wants a new manager in place at Newcastle United before the weekend.
The Sun says the under-fire billionaire Toon owner is desperate to quell the fury of the fuming Geordie nation by having a top-quality boss sitting in the stands against Hull on Saturday.
Dick Advocaat and Guus Hiddink have joined Gus Poyet and Paul Ince on Ashley's wish-list as he tries to repair the damage caused by Kevin Keegan's shock exit.
A Toon source said: "Mike is desperate to get the fans back onside and thinks getting someone in by the end of the week will ease tensions a bit.
"He was planning to stay away on Saturday but is starting to believe it would look better if he fronted up the situation and didn't run scared."
