Gus Poyet is being linked with Alan Pardew's job at Newcastle United.

The People says Mike Ashley will bring in Poyet if Pardew decides he can take no more of Joe Kinnear at Newcastle.

Ashley enraged Toon fans by appointing Kinnear as director of football over manager Pardew's head.

But that will be a minor tremor compared to the shockwaves caused by the arrival of Poyet, still in dispute with former club Brighton.

Poyet is close pals with Dennis Wise, who is still a hated figure on Tyneside after his time as the club's director of football.
