Newcastle owner Ashley choppers in for Pardew talks

Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley made a trip to the club's training ground yesterday for talks with manager Alan Pardew.

The Evening Chronicle says the Magpies owner arrived in trademark fashion via his own private helicopter.

Ashley was expected to discuss player contracts and transfer targets in the meeting with Danny Simpson and Fabricio Coloccini's futures sure to be on the agenda.
