Newcastle United could sell as many as eleven first teamers if they fail to beat the drop this season.

The Mirror says Newcastle are desperate to slash their £73million wage bill - and if they get relegated up to 11 of the biggest earners are sure to be axed, or released.

Michael Owen, Mark Viduka, Oba Martins, Sebastian Bassong, Alan Smith, Joey Barton, Damien Duff, Geremi, Fabricio Coloccini, Jonas Gutierrez, Habib Beye, Xisco and Jose Enrique will all be sold.
