Newcastle United have been given fresh hope in their move for Hertha Berlin striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga.
It's emerged that a move to relegated Hamburg SV has stalled for the Germany U21 international.
The Evening Chronicle says Newcastle will not up their wage offer to Lasogga after holding talks with the striker last week.
But Hamburg may pull the plug with investor Klaus-Michael Kuehne threatening to rip up their management team.
