Newcastle offer new deal to Man Utd, Spurs target Perez

Newcastle United plan to offer Ayoze Perez a new contract.

The Evening Chronicle says they are set to open contract negotiations with Perez in a bid to ward off interest from Premier League big guns in January.

United are yet to receive a single enquiry about Perez, who is being tracked by Tottenham, Manchester United and Arsenal after impressing for Steve McClaren's team – and they expect to be able to keep him through the January transfer window.

But Perez remains on the wage he was offered when he switched from United to Tenerife, and the Magpies will need to reflect his new status as a key first-team player if they are to keep him happy at St James' Park.
