Newcastle United are sweating on a deal for Lille fullback Mathieu Debuchy.

The Sunday Sun says Lille right-back Debuchy has told both Newcastle and his current club that he wants to come to Tyneside, but this is a deal that has been delayed longer than any of the parties involved had anticipated.

Lille are demanding Newcastle meet their asking price for the France international.
