Newcastle United No2 Paul Simpson has told Papiss Cisse that Aleksandar Mitrovic is currently their prime striker.

Simpson has urged Cisse to remain on his toes and grasp his opportunity when it arrives.

Simpson told BBC Newcastle's Total Sport: “We've gone with Mitro over the last run of games and I think we're trying to develop the team with Mitro in it because he's got a fantastic work ethic.

“He's (Mitrovic has) still got lots of things in his game that he needs to improve on but he's got the sort of attitude that he wants to improve and wants to work on them.

“So for Papiss it's been a bit unfortunate that he's missed out because Mitro's been in there."
