Newcastle United No2 John Carver can see experienced goalkeeper Steve Harper moving into coaching.

Carver feels his leadership skills have shone through in tremendous fashion.

He told the Evening Chronicle: "Steve is very important here - especially to the younger lads.

"There is no doubt he will go into coaching. By the information he gives the players you can see that.

"That can only benefit him and the players he has around him."
