Newcastle United assistant manager John Carver insists the club hasn't lost faith in Papiss Cisse.
Carver says Cisse can rediscover his old form.
After defeat to Fulham, he said: "If you think back to two seasons ago when he could have had his own Goal of the Season program, some of the goals he scored were out of this world.
"Who wouldn't want a goalscorer like that? But all goalscorers play on confidence. At the moment, Papiss' confidence is down, only because he hasn't been scoring goals.
"The pleasing thing for me is that he always gets into the positions to score. If he's not getting in there then we do have an issue.
"He has worked hard. It would have been dead easy for him to sulk and to be unhappy about him not being in the team.
"But he has actually worked really hard on the training ground, doing a little bit extra at the end.
"Maybe he needs to do more of that extra work."
