Newcastle United must drop their asking price for striker Shola Ameobi.

The Journal says Newcastle had hoped to receive more than £3m for Ameobi but may be forced to lower that valuation in order to sell - and that could open the door for former manager Glenn Roeder to make a move to take the player to Norwich City.
