Newcastle United have been told to up their offer for Lille fullback Mathieu Debuchy.
The Evening Chronicle says like Newcastle's initial £8million bid for Luuk De Jong late last night, the Magpies are expected to have to cough up more for the Euro 2012 star Debuchy if they are to win his services.
The move leaves the future of Danny Simpson looking ominous.
