Newcastle United must pay a small fortune for young Irish prospect Stephen Folan.
The Daily Mail says the Toon have been ordered to pay more than £75,000 compensation to two League of Ireland clubs for young Irish prospect Folan.
So far the Galway youngster has not appeared in the Newcastle first team squad but he has earned some notoriety already as the third man to be photographed in a Newcastle nightclub alongside fellow Irishmen Stephen Ireland and Leon Best on the eve of their defeat at Stoke City.
Ireland and Best will both be disciplined by Newcastle manager Alan Pardew this week for their part in the incident at the TupTup Palace club nearly two weeks ago. Folan could also be reprimanded after he too was pictured showing off his stomach to official nightclub photographers on the night.
Galway-based teams Mervue United have been awarded £36,549 by FIFA's Player Status Committee and Salthill Devon will receive £30,701. Newcastle can still appeal against FIFA's decision.
