Newcastle United face missing out on Watford defender Adrian Mariappa.
The Daily Mail says Watford rejected an initial £2million offer earlier this week and may be willing to do business at £4m but that could be beyond Newcastle's budget.
The talented 25-year-old is also a target for Swansea City and Bolton Wanderers.
