Newcastle United are ready to trump Borussia Monchengladbach for Alexander Ring.

The 21 year-old Finland international is tied to HJK in his homeland, though currently playing on-loan at Gladbach this season.

Toon have been following Ring's progress and the People says they hope a bid of £500,000 will clinch his signature in the summer.
