Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye has fears over his ankle injury suffered with France.

It is not yet known how serious the damage is and Cabaye has not been officially ruled out of Tuesday's key clash with Bosnia-Herzegovina at this stage, but the 25-year-old is pessimistic about the prognosis.

"I preferred to be substituted and not take any risk," he told L'Equipe.

"It was a big pain, and I fear ligaments could have been damaged."
