Newcastle United midfielder Vurnon Anita is ready to face Fulham tonight.

The Toon's Dutch ace was given his big break at Ajax by Fulham boss Martin Jol.

The midfielder said: "I know Martin very well. He coached me at Ajax and gave me a chance.

"It is because of him that I made the national team. He is an inspiration to me. I'm very much looking forward to seeing him.

"When I came to Newcastle, he phoned to congratulate me and said the move was a great one for me.

"And no, he did not try to persuade me to join Fulham instead!

"I look forward to seeing him - and I really look forward to beating him!"
