Newcastle to meet Sunderland in FA Youth Cup blockbuster

Newcastle United meet Sunderland tonight in the FA Youth Cup.

The Magpies have already beaten Sunderland twice this season but they will be praying for a derby hat-trick at St James' Park in this evening's fourth-round tie (kick-off 7pm).

Toon coach Dave Watson told the Evening Chronicle: "It is the one the kids look for because they get to play at the big grounds.

"The year before last we had a good run.

"We had lots of draws where we were at home and performed well. The lads gained a tremendous experience from it. It really brought the confidence out in them.

"The manager was watching and John Carver and Steve Stone - the first-team staff.

"So for the kids to get the chance to perform in front of the manager it is great for them.

"We went on to win the league two years ago so the confidence can keep going."
