Newcastle United academy boss Richard Money says summer signing Nile Ranger is making a good impression.
Ranger was released by Southampton's Academy side this summer, before Newcastle signed up the skilful striker in August.
Ranger scored a great goal against Blackburn to bag the first win of the campaign for the second string at Whitley Park.
Then the teenager - who also has a talent for rapping - slotted home twice for the Academy in the 3-2 win over Leeds United, before smashing home a scorching volley against Wigan last week.
And although he ended up on the losing side, Money has been delighted by his contribution so far.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "His performance at Wigan was terrific. He was head and shoulders above anybody else on the pitch. He was a threat all night and he held the ball up really well."
Ranger is a striker that can run at defenders and cause havoc in the final third, and his performances will excite Toon fans who enjoy watching good, attacking players.
Money added: "He turns people and he looks dangerous. But more importantly he works so hard for the team. If he keeps his feet on the ground, he has got a chance of progressing.
"He can progress to a good level - and maybe the highest level. Hopefully, that highest level will be with Newcastle."
