Newcastle United are reported to be showing significant interest in Ajax boss Frank de Boer.
Reports suggest that Magpies owner Mike Ashley will make an ambitious summer move for the 44-year old former Holland international who currently has the Amsterdam club sitting second on the Eredivisie table.
The Toon are currently being looked after by interim manager John Carver following the departure of Alan Pardew to Crystal Palace late last month but it is believed that Ashley is eager to bring the ex-Barcelona and Ajax defender to St James' Park for the 2015/16 season and beyond.
