Olympique Marseille have fielded an approach from Newcastle United for Florian Thauvin.

Canal+ says Newcastle and Tottenham are chasing the winger for the summer market, with the Toon making a firm bid.

However, it's understood the offer fell well short of OM's valuation.

Marseille rate Thauvin at €20 million as they seek a quick profit on the €12 million they paid Lille for the youngster in 2013.

Thauvin won't consider moving to Newcastle should they be relegated at the end of this season.
