Newcastle United have made an improved bid for Montpellier midfielder Remy Cabella.
The Daily Mail says Newcastle have made an improved £9m offer for Cabella.
Cabella, 24, is valued at around £12m and is reportedly interested in a move to St James's Park but Newcastle hope Montpellier will relent on their price.
Newcastle had hoped to push through a bid for the France international before the World Cup.
